The Additive Division started production and sale of functional additives under the DISPARLON brand in 1956. Since then, our technologies have helped to make society richer and more comfortable in countries all over the world. Its contributions have taken the form of industrial materials, from automotive coatings, marine coatings, heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings, and architectural coatings to printing inks, sealants, and adhesives. As we strive to strengthen our service frameworks for the global market, we are embracing the challenge of creating new solutions that will contribute to valuable technological innovations of the future.

DISPARLON

DISPARLON is a series of functional i that enhance and improve the performance of various products, such as automotive coatings, marine coatings, heavy duty coatings, architectural coatings, printing inks, adhesives and sealing materials, simply by adding a small quantity to those products.
In addition to our efforts to establish environmentally friendly and highly functional technologies and develop new products, we are working on the development of custom-made products according to customer needs. We support the global market with our regular lineup of over 200 products.

Laboratory

Soka Laboratory, located in Soka City, Saitama Prefecture, is the core research laboratory of Kusumoto Chemicals. In addition to basic research and development of our own products, primarily in the chemical field, this laboratory provides application services (technical consulting) that help solve users’ technical issues.
To strengthen our development of next-generation, sustainability-conscious products, we plan to build a new laboratory and start operating it in 2026.

Production Base

To increase customer satisfaction and ensure the stable supply of products in compliance with laws and regulations, we have established a production framework composed of three locations in Japan and three overseas locations. In this way, we are striving to strengthen our service framework for the global market.
